Qualifications

• Certification by the State of Georgia in Education SRT4 SRT7 and content area specialization.
• Experience: completed accredited teacher training program.
• Skills in effective communication and ability to adapt instruction to diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Follows professional practices consistent with school and system policies in working with students, students' records, parents and colleagues.
• Interacts professionally with students and parents.
• Is available to students and parents for conferences according to system policies.
• Facilitates home-school communication through conferences, calls and written communications.
• Maintains confidentiality for school administrators, staff, colleagues and parents.
• Models correct use of language, oral and written.
• Demonstrates up-to-date knowledge of content.
• Develops and implements Individual Educational Plans for identified handicapped students.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal and Special Education Director.
