Job summary

HABERSHAM COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT in Georgia seeks a Special Education Teacher to provide individualized learning experiences based on each child's needs for maximum development.

This certified, 190-day position requires Georgia certification in Special Education, completion of an accredited teacher training program, and the ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and staff. You will align instruction with standards and maintain records to support student growth.

Qualifications

• Certification by the Georgia PSC is required.
• Special Education Certification in the appropriate level and subject area.
• Successful completion of an accredited teacher training program.

Responsibilities

• Follows professional practices consistent with school and system policies.
• Interacts in a professional manner with students and parents.
• Available to students and parents for conferences according to system policies.
• Maintains confidentiality for school administrators, special support personnel, colleagues and parents.
• Models correct use of language, oral and written.
• Develops and implements Individual Educational Plans for identified handicapped students.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal and Special Education Director.
