Job summary

Michael Foods, Inc. is seeking a qualified FSQ Technician at the Britt, Iowa facility to ensure food safety and quality across production lines. You will monitor SQMS programs, perform inspections, calibrations, and testing, and train staff on safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include collecting samples, documenting results, following GMPs, and providing COAs to customers. The role requires strong attention to detail and adherence to USDA/FSIS guidelines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 1–3 months related experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and present information in one-on-one and small group settings.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for Food Safety and Food Quality of Michael Foods, Inc. products.
• Adhere to GMPs, safety policies, and sanitary conditions.
• Follow USDA/FSIS/FDA guidelines and customer specifications.
• Collect in-process and finished product samples for testing (salt, solids, pH, temp, weight, moisture, etc).
• Use SAP to access and print product specs and formulas.
• Assist in training production staff on food safety and quality requirements.
• Perform pre-operational and operational inspections of production areas.
• Calibrate pH meters, thermometers, and scales; report equipment issues.
• Provide COAs to customers and maintain accurate documentation.
• Maintain regular attendance and perform other duties as assigned.
