Job summary

The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit 23 is seeking a Floating Teacher Assistant - Early Intervention to provide classroom support for children ages 3-5 within the Office of Early Childhood Services. This full-time role covers classrooms across Montgomery County, PA, and requires the ability to travel between sites.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED with willingness to obtain the PA Paraeducator Credential within probation, and a preference for an Associate degree or higher

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; willingness to obtain PA Paraeducator Credential within probation.
• Associates degree or higher, or 48 college credits; Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
• Background in special education and experience with students with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize direct-instruction programs and online learning systems.
• Take teacher direction and support student behavior with proactive strategies.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, supervisors and school district personnel.
• Assist teacher with daily lesson preparation, materials, corrections, and record keeping.
• Implement applied behavior analysis principles and collect student data as directed.
• Organize classroom materials and bulletin boards; assist with instructional activities.
• Support one-on-one and small-group instruction as assigned by the teacher.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher.
