Job summary

The State of Indiana’s Department of Child Services in Williamsport, Indiana, is hiring a Family Case Manager to support families and protect children from abuse and neglect. You will work in Warren County and surrounding areas, pursuing permanency and reunification when possible.

Responsibilities include investigating reports, assessing risk, developing case plans, conducting home studies, testifying, and coordinating adoption or independent living arrangements.

Qualifications

• Associate degree with 2+ years of human services experience, or 30 college credits with 4+ years experience, or 5+ years experience.
• Advanced knowledge of social work, casework, and related theories.
• Strong understanding of child protection laws and programs.
• Ability to coordinate across programs and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Investigate reported child abuse/neglect and determine substantiation.
• Assess risk and determine removal or reunification actions as needed.
• Develop needs assessments and treatment options for families and children.
• Testify, prepare reports, and support community protection teams.
• Develop case plans and discharge/transition programs for independence.
• Monitor treatment programs and coordinate with providers.
• Occasionally provide on-call coverage and home studies for adoption.
