The Family Case Manager position with the State of Indiana’s Department of Child Services is based in Marion, serving Grant and surrounding counties as needed. Primary duties include protecting children, reuniting families when possible, and pursuing permanent homes or independent living for children not reunified with families.

Salary starts at $47,320 and can be commensurate with education or experience. A robust benefits package supports work-life balance and professional growth.

Formación

• Associate degree with at least two years of human services job experience.
• 30 college credits with at least four years of human services experience.
• Minimum of five years in human services.
• Advanced knowledge of social work, casework, sociology and counseling methods.
• Thorough knowledge of state and federal laws affecting child protection services.
• Ability to interview alleged victims and perpetrators of abuse/neglect.
• Ability to prepare clear, accurate reports and monitor guidelines.

Responsabilidades

• Investigate reported child abuse or neglect and develop disposition recommendations.
• Assess child risk and determine need for removal to a safe environment.
• Perform needs assessments for treatment options for families and children.
• Testify and prepare progress reports for the community protection team.
• Develop case plans to promote self-sufficiency and permanent homes.
• Monitor service providers for alignment with case plans.
• Accept on-call duties and conduct home studies and adoption recommendations.
• Visit children in out-of-home placements to coordinate reunification or adoption.

Educación

Associate degree with minimum 2 years of human services experience

30 college credits with 4+ years of human services experience

5+ years of human services experience

Advanced knowledge of social work principles and casework

Thorough knowledge of state/federal child protection laws

Ability to interview alleged victims and manage crises
