Job summary

Boston Public Schools, Boston International High in Boston, MA, seeks an ESL teacher for a long-term substitute position from 01/04/2027 to 05/24/2027. Per diem subs are hired for long-term assignments, at the per diem rate. This role reports to the Principal/Head of School and focuses on multilingual learners’ language development.

The teacher will design lessons aligned to WIDA standards, collaborate with classroom teachers, and support ELL assessment administration and transitions as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Massachusetts ESL teaching license required or eligible.
• Ability to meet state/federal licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide ESL instruction to multilingual learners identified as English Learners.
• Collaborate with content teachers to align instruction across domains.
• Assist with ACCESS administration and ELL transitions as appropriate.
• Attend professional development to stay current in ELL instruction.
