Job summary

Abbott is seeking an Equipment and Automation Engineer II in the Corporate Operations department to support manufacturing for existing equipment and help launch new equipment into Production. You will work cross-functionally with multiple departments to meet business objectives and customer needs, providing technical guidance to production teams.

The role requires a Bachelor's or Associate degree in engineering, 2+ years of experience, strong problem-solving, and the ability to travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent with 2+ years of experience; or an Associate degree with 4+ years of experience.
• Knowledge of engineering principles, theories, and procedures and ability to apply them to assignments.
• Ability to drive a project to successful completion.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Demonstrated ability to perform essential duties with or without accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Develop process and procedures for building new equipment.
• Apply defined procedures to execute and document changes to existing equipment.
• Create, document, and execute protocols to support process or part changes.
• Investigate problems, gather facts, analyze data, and draw accurate conclusions.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Support failure analysis investigations and identify root causes with support from experienced team members.
• Support building and testing of custom equipment.
• Provide manufacturing support for the repair center.
• Apply technical knowledge to identify improvements to equipment and processes.
• Lead less complex improvement projects.
• Communicate project status and resource needs; prepare and present reports.
• Follow FDA, ISO, CAP, CLIA requirements and maintain detailed records.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a matrix organization.
