Qualifications

• Board certification/eligibility in Emergency Medicine.
• Active Virginia medical license or ability to obtain.
• Completion of an Emergency Medicine Residency within 3 years (or 1500 hours of clinical activity in the past 3 years if beyond 3 years).

Responsibilities

• Clinical - Provide direct patient care in the emergency department and supervise trainees; document encounters and adhere to policies and procedures.
• Teaching - Provide core curriculum lectures to medical students, interns and residents; participate in ACLS, PALS and ATLS courses; bedside teaching.
• Research - Actively identify areas of interest and participate in departmental research projects.
• Administrative - Attend department meetings and participate in quality improvement, utilization review, and committees.

Education

Board Certified/Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine

Active Virginia Medical license or ability to obtain

Completion of an Emergency Medicine Residency within 3 years (or 1500 hours past 3 years if beyond 3 years)
