Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health System seeks an enthusiastic Instructor to join our academic Emergency Medicine team. You will contribute to patient care in the ED and supervise trainees while engaging in teaching and education activities.

This role supports research and quality improvement efforts, with opportunities to participate in ACLS/PALS/ATLS courses and department initiatives. The position is onsite at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Richmond.

Qualifications

• Board certified/board eligible in Emergency Medicine.
• Active Virginia medical license or ability to obtain.
• Completion of an Emergency Medicine Residency within 3 years (or 1500 hours in past 3 years if longer).
• Demonstrated ability to foster respect, professionalism and civility.

Responsibilities

• Clinical: provide direct ED patient care and supervise trainees.
• Teaching: deliver core curriculum lectures to medical students and residents.
• Research: identify topics and participate in departmental projects.
• Administrative: attend meetings and participate in QA/utilization review activities.
