Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Social Services, Division: Economic Services in Marlboro County, seeks an ES Eligibility Specialist to administer SNAP, TANF, ESAP, and SCCAP programs. You will conduct interviews, verify eligibility, and process applications and renewals as part of a mission to protect and stabilize vulnerable lives.

Responsibilities include maintaining confidential client records, documenting participation, identifying overpayments, and ensuring data security while supporting

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and relevant program experience in clerical administration, social work, correctional administration, and general business administration.
• An Associate Degree or higher may be substituted for the required program experience.

Responsibilities

• Conducts a minimum of 15 quality interviews per day for SNAP, TANF, ESAP applications and renewals.
• Processes SNAP, TANF, ESAP, and SCCAP applications and/or recertifications.
• Maintains case records in agency systems and documents client activities for auditing.
• Identifies and documents overpayments; makes referrals to the Benefit Integrity Unit.
• Participates in required trainings and staff meetings; safeguards PII and agency data.
• Performs Red Cross shelter duty or other emergency shelter duties as directed.
