Job summary

Bellwood School District 88 is seeking a Special Education Resource Teacher for Thurgood Marshall Elementary (High-Needs School) for the 2026-2027 school year. The position reports to the Building Principal and is Exempt under the FLSA, with a salary range from $48,000 to $62,750.

The role includes planning instruction and education program adoption to assist students in benefiting from experiences, collaborating with staff, and maintaining classroom documentation and parent contact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education.
• Current Professional Educator License and appropriate content area endorsements.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general periodicals, professional journals, medical reports, technical procedures, or government regulations.

Responsibilities

• Plans curriculum, lessons, and special Education programs and teaching methods.
• Evaluates student progress based on papers submitted, test scores and observations.
• Maintains contact with parents of students.
• Works with staff to coordinate goals and objectives.
• Assists the student in making a realistic assessment of abilities and in establishing educational goals keeping with these abilities.
• Evaluates student progress based on work output and observation, determines goals, objectives and directions.

Education
