Job summary

K12northstar is seeking a paraeducator to assist elementary students (PreK–5, or up to grade 8 where applicable) with a range of needs in diverse settings. Responsibilities include supporting instruction, supervision, and student wellbeing in assigned classrooms.

The position offers a $2,000 new hire bonus after 30 working days and a $1,000 retention bonus payable in June, prorated for part-time staff. Grade 7 hourly range listed; work day is 7 hours, 9-month school year.

Qualifications

• Must meet one of the listed education paths (HS diploma with assessments, or 2- or 4-year degree).
• Ability to lift and assist students safely is required.
• Understanding of developmental disabilities and empathy for students with special needs.
• Complete de-escalation/crisis intervention training, including restraint, as required.
• ASL I and ASL II proficiency if signing skills are listed for the vacancy.
