Job summary

Grand Street Settlement is seeking an EHS Teacher (Full Time) in Brooklyn to assist the Lead Teacher in planning and supervising services for a classroom of eight children, following Head Start and health/safety standards.

The role requires an AA in Early Childhood Education or 90 credits toward a degree, plus Infant/Toddler CDA or related coursework. Strong teamwork and bilingual skills are preferred; schedule is Monday–Friday, with a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• AA in Early Childhood Education or 90 credits toward degree.
• Infant/Toddler CDA credential or coursework in infant/toddler development.
• Experience with families and children aged newborn to three.
• Ability to work with children with special developmental, social or cultural needs.
• Ability to maintain records and manage time.
• Ability to work collaboratively and provide leadership.
• Ability to lift 35 pounds.
• Bilingual English/ Chinese or Spanish strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining a safe, sanitary environment per EHS/DOHMH.
• Support curriculum planning and programming for individual and group needs.
• Collaborate with staff to meet children’s goals and objectives.
• Maintain developmentally appropriate equipment in good, sanitized condition.
• Maintain confidentiality of child and family information.
• Assist in recordkeeping and curriculum planning using Teaching Strategies Gold.
