Job summary

The University of Vermont Medical Center is seeking an Educational Interpreter to provide onsite interpreting services for deaf students in classroom settings and school activities.

This role involves collaboration with the student's school team while adhering to professional ethics and regulations. Candidates are expected to have a Bachelor's degree (preferred) and at least two years of related experience. Comprehensive benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of relevant college or professional training required.
• EIPA score of 4.0 or higher preferred or credentialed by RID.
• Demonstrated knowledge of educational specialties.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite interpreting services for students who are deaf.
• Act within policies to maximize services to students.
• Receive guidance and support from team supervisors.

Skills

Fluency in English and American Sign Language

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

Knowledge of cultural sensitivity

Education

Bachelor's Degree preferred
