Job summary

Jawonio Inc. in New City, NY 10956 is seeking an Early Intervention Center-Based Substitute (per diem) to plan and implement a full curriculum for infant clients, using assessments, parental input, and individualized goals.

Responsibilities include home visits, progress monitoring, IFSP development, and collaboration with therapists, social workers, and families to support child development and daily living skills.

Qualifications

• Must have Permanent Special Education Certificate or equivalent license or certification.
• Preferred background in early intervention birth to 3 years.
• Experience with infant curriculum development and IFSP processes.

Responsibilities

• Plans and writes a full curriculum appropriate for infant consumers based on consumer files, observations, and goals; develops new material tailored to each child.
• Conducts home visits when appropriate and assists parents in learning daily skills to support goals.
• Performs tests of basic skills and prepares evaluation reports for school districts or physicians.
• Participates in IFSP meetings, writes new IFSPs, updates documentation, and prepares final reports.
• Monitors classroom presence and develops curricula to support cognitive and sensory motor development.
• Participates in team conferences to align goals with therapists and social workers; trains staff and engages parents.
• Provides assistance with daily living activities such as diapering, toileting, and feeding.
• Oversees IDP aides and provides guidance and performance feedback.
