Job summary

Save the Children is seeking a Program Aide in the Head Start program to provide educational, relational, and social experiences for infants to preschoolers. You will report to the Education & Inclusion Manager or Center Director and may travel to program sites and home visits.

You will assist classroom staff, help with daily operations, and serve as a substitute in absence of teachers. You will also support janitorial tasks and kitchen duties as needed while ensuring child safety and program

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Must obtain basic first aid and pediatric CPR within 90 days of employment.
• Knowledge of basics of working with infants, toddlers, and preschool children.
• Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
• Ability to relate sensitively with children and communicate effectively with staff, parents and families.
• Proven ability to follow directions and take initiative.
• Demonstrated ability to keep information on families confidential.
• Experience working with children with disabilities preferred.
