Job summary

Athens-Clarke County is seeking a Diversion Center Case Worker to supervise residents in the Diversion Center Program and develop individualized work, skills, and training plans aimed at reducing recidivism. The role includes case file maintenance, counseling, and ensuring residents’ progress under staff supervision.

Responsibilities include intake assessments, interviews, progress documentation, court compliance, and coordination with probation, court, and service providers.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of corrections department policies and activities.
• Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and database software.
• Knowledge of laws related to work release and corrections.
• Ability to use independent judgment in routine and non-routine situations.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial intake assessment and criminogenic review.
• Conducts interviews with residents and family members.
• Creates individualized case plans for residents.
• Monitors compliance with program and court requirements.
• Provides direct individual counseling.
• Co-chairs Diversion Center Classification Committee meetings.
• Coordinates with Probation, court, attorneys, and outside providers.
• Maintains resident records and monitors progress.
• Arranges education and counseling applicable to cases.
• Represents data to supervisors as required.
