Job summary

Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County is seeking a Diversion Center Case Worker to provide intensive supervision and oversight for residents in the Diversion Center Program. The role focuses on developing individualized work, skills, and training plans to reduce recidivism, maintaining case files, and counseling residents toward program completion.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in relevant fields, BCOT certification within twelve months, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice or Sociology required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Must meet BCOT Certification within twelve months of hire date.
• Position includes a twelve-month probationary period.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial intake assessment and criminogenic review of potential residents and their needs upon entering the program.
• Conducts interviews with residents and potential family members to identify risk factors and address them.
• Creates individualized case plans for residents.
• Monitors and documents resident compliance with program and court requirements.
• Participates in drug and alcohol training and testing to provide proper supervision.
• Establishes appropriate location for community service requirements with each offender.
• Receives, researches, and responds to concerns from employers, law enforcement, and the public.
• Prepares and maintains computer database records of residents and monitors progress.
• Facilitates education and counseling relevant to the resident's case; monitors attendance and compliance.
• Provides direct individual counseling for residents.
