Job summary

Akumin is seeking a PRN mammography technologist to produce diagnostic mammographic images for interpretation and to follow ACR and MQSA guidelines. You will document radiation exposure and ensure compliance with federal and state laws and institutional policies.

Responsibilities include performing screening and diagnostic mammography, ensuring image quality for radiologist interpretation, maintaining MQSA/ACR compliance, and supporting QA tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform screening and diagnostic mammography exams following established protocols.
• Position patients accurately and operate mammography equipment safely.
• Verify patient identity, review clinical history and explain the procedure clearly.
• Maintain MQSA, ACR, and radiation safety standards; assist with QA tasks and documentation.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA in all patient interactions.
• Ensure high-quality images for radiologist interpretation and timely reporting.
• Train and orient new technologists and participate in ongoing education and competencies.
