Job summary

Akumin Operating Corp. in Orlando, FL seeks a PRN mammography technologist to produce diagnostic mammographic images and ensure quality while following ACR and MQSA guidelines.

You will prepare, document radiation exposure, and maintain compliance with federal and state laws and Akumin’s policies. You will help the radiology team by positioning patients, operating equipment safely, and delivering an excellent patient experience.

Qualifications

• Certificate from college or technical school required.
• ARRT(M) and state license required.
• BLS certification required.
• MQSA/ACR knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform screening and diagnostic mammography exams following established protocols.
• Position patients accurately and operate mammography equipment safely.
• Verify patient identity, review clinical history, and explain the procedure clearly.
• Maintain compliance with MQSA, ACR, and radiation safety standards; assist with QC tasks and documentation.
• Maintain high-quality images for radiologist interpretation.
• Support infection control practices and maintain HIPAA confidentiality.
• Demonstrate proficiency with Akumin’s EMR, Mammography Reporting Systems, PACS and DICOM.
• Train and orient new technologists as needed; participate in ongoing education and site competencies.
