Job summary

Akumin is seeking a Mammography Technologist for our Hollywood facility on a PRN basis. You will produce diagnostic mammographic images for interpretation under MQSA and ACR guidelines, with supervision as needed.

You will prepare and document radiation exposure in compliance with laws and institutional policy. The role emphasizes high-quality imaging, patient safety, and regulatory compliance, supporting early breast cancer detection and excellent patient experience.

Qualifications

• Certificate from College or Technical School ARRT(M) and State License, if applicable.
• Must obtain certification/registry within 1 year of hire.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (ARC).
• Must meet initial requirements under MQSA standards within 30 days of hire.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.

Responsibilities

• Perform screening and diagnostic mammography exams following established protocols.
• Position patients accurately and operate mammography equipment safely.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with all mammography regulatory standards.
• Verify patient identity, review clinical history, and explain the procedure clearly.
• Ensure high-quality images for radiologist interpretation.
• Maintain compliance with MQSA, ACR, and radiation safety standards.
• Assist with QC tasks, equipment checks, and documentation as required.
• Maintain confidentiality in matters relating to patients, family and staff in compliance with HIPAA.
