Akumin is seeking a PRN mammography technologist to produce diagnostic mammographic images for interpretation, following ACR and MQSA guidelines. You will prepare and document radiation exposure in compliance with laws and Akumin policies, and ensure high-quality images for radiologist review.
Responsibilities include performing screening and diagnostic mammography, verifying patient identity, maintaining QA and infection control, and ensuring timely image sharing via PACS/DICOM.
As a PRN mammography technologist you are required to produce diagnostic mammographic images for interpretation through administration of ionizing radiation in accordance with ACR and MQSA guidelines. You will prepare, document activities related to radiation exposure in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, or lawful institutional policy. The position is held accountable for performing the correct mammographic exams and producing high quality diagnostic images, while maintaining proficiency and complying with Akumin’s policies and procedures. This role supports early detection of breast disease and provides an excellent patient experience.
The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit. The employee will be exposed to a strong magnetic field. May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
