Job summary

PorchLight Services in Madison, United States seeks a caregiver to support developmentally disabled participants with daily living and social skills. You will implement programs, monitor health needs, and assist with meals in a home setting.

Responsibilities include documentation, safety, and promoting community participation while following planning team guidance. Weekend and evening shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license and must be insurable by the agency.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
• Ability to lift 50 to 60 lbs and stand/walk for 75% of shift.
• Must pass background check and post-offer drug test.
• Ability to complete Medication Certification and supervise medications.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
• Ability to assist with lifts and use gait belts.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living activities during the day, evening, and/or weekend hours.
• Implement programs determined by the participant’s planning team.
• Attend to health and medical needs and monitor for safety.
• Meal preparation and routine household tasks.
• Maintain accurate records of services provided.
• Support participation in community activities and maintain records.
