Job summary

NaphCare is seeking an experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team at the Bullock Correctional Facility in Union Springs, AL. In this role you will work alongside correctional officers and medical professionals to provide counseling and mental health care to residents, within a secure correctional setting.

You will assess and treat individuals with mental illness and co-occurring disorders, develop treatment plans, document progress, and participate in educational activities

Qualifications

• Master's degree in mental health with active licensure in AL (LCSW/LCMHC/LMFT/LPC/LMHC/LMSW).
• Active BLS CPR Certification (American Heart Association preferred).
• Pass criminal background check and drug screening.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in mental health care; correctional care preferred.
• Knowledge of DSM-V criteria; ability to assess and treat in a correctional setting.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat residents with mental illness, substance use disorders, and behavioral issues.
• Perform mental health evaluations, progress notes, treatment plans, and group therapy.
• Develop educational materials and provide group therapy.
• Collaborate with medical, mental health, and security staff to ensure safe care.
• Ensure compliance with ACA and NCCHC standards; maintain case files and reports.
