Job summary

The Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona is seeking a Kitchen Manager to oversee daily kitchen operations, ensure safe high‑quality food production, and manage production schedules, inventory, and staff including volunteers. You will collaborate with Nutrition & Meal Programs and other departments to meet nutrition goals and service demands.

The role requires a degree in a related field, 4 years in commercial kitchen ops, 2+ years supervision, ServSafe certification, and a valid AZ driver

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Service Management, Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, Nutrition, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in commercial kitchen operations, food production, or institutional food service.
• Two (2) years of supervisory or management experience.
• ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
• Valid Arizona Driver License with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Manages daily kitchen operations to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality food production.
• Develops and monitors production schedules to meet operational demands and delivery timelines.
• Oversees food preparation, packaging, storage, and distribution.
• Monitors productivity and quality, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Ensures kitchen equipment is maintained and properly serviced.
• Supervises staff and volunteers, recruiting, training, coaching, and developing talent.
• Maintains food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance.
• Manages inventory and coordination with procurement and food sourcing.
• Collaborates with Nutrition & Meal Programs and other departments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
