Job summary

Bridging Virginia seeks a Capital Access Manager to help small businesses access capital and support underserved communities in the Hampton Roads region. You will oversee loan origination, processing, and post-closing servicing while coordinating with partner lenders and community organizations.

The role focuses on outreach in diverse communities, managing a loan portfolio, and driving technical assistance and capacity-building for borrowers. Some travel to Richmond MSA may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or 2-3 years of related work experience required. Commercial or nonprofit lending experience is a plus.
• Experience with federal and/or state lending programs (CDFI Fund, SBA, VSBFA) is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, bilingual in Spanish a plus.
• Strong financial analysis, time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Review new applications daily via email and website; assess readiness for review and Hub involvement.
• Assess clients' capital readiness and coordinate with partner agencies for technical assistance and coaching.
• Respond to loan inquiries; screen potential loan transactions for policy alignment and program availability.
• Originate and package loans; submit loans to underwriters and present to approval authorities.
• Ensure loans are closed and disbursed in a timely manner; manage loan relationships from origination to servicing.
• Review and collect post-closing items; manage a portfolio of existing small business loans.
• Conduct outreach with marketing and engagement plans for small business clients; follow up on new opportunities.
• Implement repayment strategies and support timely repayments; provide post-loan assistance including site visits.
