Job summary

Qualifications

  • High school diploma and four years of responsible experience in building construction trades, home inspection, environmental inspection, public relations or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Must obtain and maintain ICC/AACE certification for property maintenance housing inspector or equivalent within six months and maintain throughout employment.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect interior and exterior of single and multi-family dwellings to identify code violations and rating conditions observed.
  • Inspect areas around solid waste collection, alleys, streets, yards and rights-of-way for violations and compliance with solid waste regulations.
  • Investigate complaints about health, safety, zoning, and solid waste regulations; obtain compliance and issue corrective action correspondence; establish time frames and re-inspect.
