Job summary

The City of Hayward is seeking a Code Enforcement Inspector II to perform inspections and enforce local, state, and federal codes across residential and non-residential properties. You will manage case records, communicate requirements, and collaborate with property owners, tenants, contractors, and other city divisions to achieve compliance.

The role requires two years of related experience, a valid driver's license, and relevant CACEO/ICC certifications.

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time experience similar to Code Enforcement Inspector I with the City of Hayward.
• Valid driver's license required; CACEO certification or ICC Housing/Property Maintenance certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections to ensure city codes and ordinances are followed.
• Inspect residential and commercial properties for code compliance and maintenance.
• Prepare letters, notices, and reports related to violations.
• Coordinate with property owners, tenants, and contractors to achieve compliance.
• Represent the city in hearings and manage case information for enforcement actions.
