Job summary

LaRue County Schools seeks an Instructional Assistant Substitute to support teachers in the classroom. This role involves assisting with instructional activities, preparing materials, and supervising pupils during library, playground, and lunch periods.

The substitute assistant will help with attendance, small-group instruction, and basic tutoring tasks, while ensuring health and safety standards are upheld and regular attendance is maintained.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of college coursework or an associate degree is preferred.
• Ability to assist in reading, writing, and mathematics instruction or readiness as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Score objective type tests and record results.
• Prepare instructional materials and supplies.
• Operate instructional equipment such as projectors and tape recorders.
• Assist with attendance records, lunchroom reports and announcements.
• Assist with small group instruction and tutoring activities.
• Supervise library, playground, and lunchtime activities.
• Assist with bulletin boards, displays, and use of films/filmstrips.
