Job summary

Winton Hills Academy ES, part of Cincinnati Public Schools, is seeking a Classroom Paraprofessional to support students under certified staff supervision. Immediate starting date with service during the school year.

Responsibilities include reinforcing reading and math skills, assisting in small groups, preparing instructional materials, supervising during lunch and field trips, and maintaining student records with confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher required
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Pass Parapro Assessment exam as required by No Child Left Behind Act
• Must obtain Educational Aide Permit issued by the State of Ohio
• Experience working with children desirable

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively and problem-solve in a school setting
• Assist students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, and computer instruction
• Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning
• Assist in administration and correction of classroom exercises and assessments
• Prepare materials and reinforce instructional materials for individual needs
• Assist with record-keeping to document student learning and performance
• Support classroom behavior management to ensure a safe, orderly environment
• Supervise non-instructional areas during lunch, bus duty, playground, and study halls
• Accompany students on field trips for supervision
• Follow safety rules and assist students with special needs as required
