Job summary

RAD Curbside and Recycling in Chesapeake, VA seeks a Class B Operator and Trash Truck Driver to safely collect residential and commercial waste along assigned routes. You will perform pre-trip inspections, load waste, and ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid Class B CDL with endorsements as required by state.
• Experience operating Class B vehicles, preferably in waste management.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical examination and random drug screening/pre-employment testing.
• Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and vehicle operation standards.
• Capability to perform physical tasks associated with waste collection, including lifting and handling heavy materials.

Responsibilities

• Operate Class B vehicles, including trash trucks, to collect residential and commercial waste along assigned routes.
• Ensure safe loading, transportation, and unloading of waste materials in compliance with company policies and environmental regulations.
• Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify and report mechanical issues or safety concerns.
• Maintain accurate records of routes, collections, and incidents.
• Provide courteous and professional customer service when interacting with the public.
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal traffic laws and safety standards.
• Assist with maintenance and cleanliness of the vehicle and equipment.
