Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Intermediate Civil Engineer in California to support Community Development projects, delivering preliminary engineering, final design, and construction drawings. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team across the western U.S. to ensure quality, schedule, and budget adherence.

The role emphasizes client interaction, technical design solutions, and close collaboration with project managers, with field work and site observation as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in California.
• Experience with public works transportation and site development.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil3D and AutoTurn.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with developing and managing the project scope, budget, and schedule.
• Support grading, drainage, and utility design documents and hydrology modeling.
• Prepare and revise documentation from feasibility to construction close out.
• Participate in constructability review.
• Prepare construction quantity estimates and cost analysis.
• Coordinate with design teams, subconsultants and other project partners.
• Perform field work and site observations as needed.
• Interpret and verify compliance with codes and standards.
• Utilize 3D modeling technologies in development and analysis.
• Review shop drawings and submittals; respond to RFI.
