Job summary

The City and County of Broomfield seeks a Social Caseworker II to perform professional and administrative work in assessment, case management and direct service delivery within child welfare, youth-in-conflict, adoption and foster care, and protective services programs.

The role involves semi-complex caseloads with supervisory oversight and a focus on intake, investigation, and collaboration with partners. This as-needed position supports high-volume or short-staffed periods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or human behavioral sciences required.
• Master’s degree in one of the human behavioral science fields preferred.
• 2 years experience required in casework in a public or private social services agency.

Responsibilities

• Provide intake, assessment and evaluation for child abuse/neglect, juvenile delinquency, and youth-in-conflict cases.
• Investigate allegations of abuse and neglect; assess risk and safety.
• Develop strategies to resolve issues; plans may include out-of-home placement or hospitalization.
• Make home visits and coordinate services such as life skills, daycare, financial assistance, healthcare, and treatment.
• Write reports in compliance with state and federal guidelines for documentation of plans and assessments.
• Collaborate with other departments, community agencies, non-profits, and vendors to serve client needs.
• May conduct joint investigations with law enforcement.
• Monitor progress with treatment plans and testify in court proceedings.
• Requires on-call duty after hours and on holidays/weekends.
