Job summary

Prowers County in Lamar, CO seeks a Legal Technician/Case Manager to support the Child Support Services Unit. This full-time role handles case management, document preparation, and enforcement of orders with a moderate level of independence.

You will interview custodial and non-custodial parents, review records, prepare petitions and garnishments, monitor payments, and coordinate with courts, employers, and public agencies while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree in human services or business management or two years of relevant office experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth interviews with CP to obtain detailed information.
• Interview NCP to assess ability to pay child support.
• Review case records and determine appropriate enforcement actions.
• Prepare petitions, motions, and notices for court proceedings.
• Assist attorney at court hearings and draft pleadings as requested.
• Monitor payments and enforce orders (garnishments, license suspensions, etc.).
• Coordinate with employers, courts, and other agencies to locate NCP and modifications.
