Oregon Department of Human Services is hiring multiple Child Protective Services Workers (Social Service Specialist 1) in North Bend. You will assess safety, develop service plans, connect families with resources, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

A valid driver’s license and completed degrees are required. Gain experience in child welfare while serving diverse communities in a demanding, on-site role with growth opportunities within ODHS.

Formación

• A bachelor’s degree in Human Services or a related field is required or equivalent.
• A related bachelor’s degree with minimal qualifying experience may be considered.
• An associate degree with related experience or approved coursework may qualify.
• Degree completion is required; no in-progress degrees accepted.
• Credential and competency considerations are per Oregon requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Respond to referrals by interviewing children, parents, and collateral contacts to assess safety.
• Conduct safety assessments and determine if abuse/neglect occurred with protective actions.
• Develop service plans and connect families to community resources and evaluations.
• Arrange placements and participate in meetings, court hearings, and team activities.
• Maintain thorough documentation including court reports, referrals, safety plans, and notes.

A bachelor’s degree in Human Services or a field related to human service

A bachelor’s degree unrelated to Human Services AND either: One year of Human Services related experience, OR Completion of coursework equivalent to certification consistent with Oregon Caseworker Competency

An associate degree AND either: Two years of Human Services related experience OR One year of Human Services related experience and related training, coursework or certification consistent with Oregon Caseworker Competency
