Job summary

Central Minnesota Mental Health Center (CMMHC) seeks a proven leader to serve as the Certified Peer Specialist Behavioral Health Practitioner in the Saint Cloud area. This role provides individual peer support and group services for individuals with serious mental illnesses and those in recovery from substance use disorders within the CCBHC program.

The position supports integration with providers and staff to improve overall health, conducts assessments, and facilitates goal achievement through

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Peer Specialist Certification or enrolled in Peer Certification Training.
• Mental Health Practitioner status per Minnesota Statute.
• 4,000 hours working with those with mental health, developmental disabilities, or chemical dependency (part-time over years or 2 years full-time).
• Bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences or related field with practicum or internship focus on adults/behavioral sciences (2,000 hours).
• Master’s degree or another graduate degree in behavioral sciences or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Work with providers, staff, and community towards improving both physical and mental health for individuals and families.
• Assess, refer, and monitor progress towards achieving goals in the overall health of individuals and families.
• Provide one-on-one peer support, and groups, focused on behavior changes to improve quality of life.
• Empower individuals with skills to engage in the management of both physical and mental health.
• Document interactions and interventions as directed.
• Follow all mandated reporter guidelines and review suspicious concerns with supervisor.
