Qualifications

• Education requirement: high school diploma or GED; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Entry-level; laboratory experience preferred but not required.
• Basic computer proficiency (MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Ability to learn and operate blood bank-specific software.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Ability to prepare concise reports and maintain accurate records.
• Knowledge of confidentiality regulations, especially regarding healthcare information.
• Ability to follow SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
• Critical thinking and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Sterilize and maintain cleanrooms; ensure safety and compliance.
• Prepare and monitor equipment; maintain sterile environments and monitor conditions.
• Handle specimens safely; label and prepare samples for testing.
• Maintain inventory and supplies; communicate needs to Quality Systems.
• Perform maintenance and quality control on LN2 shippers and lab equipment.
• Assist in sample storage and transport of cord blood units.
• Ensure records and reports are complete and compliant with regulatory standards.
