Job summary

Alaska Horizon in Anchorage is seeking a full-time Job Developer & Career Coach to advance participant success through workforce re-entry and tailored coaching. You will build partnerships with local employers to secure OJT, internships, and placements, while delivering work-readiness instruction and funding support.

The role requires strong collaboration, confidentiality, and program compliance, with responsibilities spanning career planning, barrier removal, and ongoing post-placement support

Qualifications

• Confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations and program standards.
• In-depth knowledge of workforce development program requirements and procedures.
• Proficient in MS Office and workforce databases (FileMaker Pro, AlaskaJobs, AKCIS).
• Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication skills with crisis de-escalation expertise.
• Organized with effective time management and multitasking abilities.
• Professional, adaptable, and reliable in dynamic settings.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and manage workspace physically.

Responsibilities

• Develop pathways and coach clients to remove non‑academic barriers to employment.
• Authorize and issue supportive service funding to remove barriers and secure placements.
• Maintain a network of community providers for referrals to housing, childcare, and training.
• Conduct labor market surveys to align participant skills with local openings.
• Provide ongoing post‑placement support and retention coaching.
• Create and adapt Career Action Plans aligned with Family Self‑Sufficiency Plans.
• Deliver targeted coaching on resumes, interviewing, and job search strategies.
• Guide clients through AKCIS, AlaskaJobs, and My Alaska portals.
• Collaborate with Career Coaches and staff to support integrated services.
• Engage employers via outreach, site visits, and job fairs to coordinate opportunities.
• Maintain participant files and prepare data reports in compliance with funders.
