Job summary

Colorado Mountain College is looking for experienced interpreters to serve as core instructors for their interpreter training program. This role involves teaching, developing lesson plans, and mentoring students in a supportive environment that emphasizes ethical AI training and language access in rural communities.

The ideal candidate will have a national or state interpreter certification and bilingual proficiency, preferably in Spanish. Strong teaching experience and the ability to travel within the region are required.

Qualifications

• Certification from CCHI, NBCMI, OLA/NCSC, NAJIT, or equivalent.
• Experience in healthcare, courts, education, or community settings.
• Teaching experience in continuing or community education.

Responsibilities

• Teach a course load as assigned, preparing aligned lesson plans.
• Develop professional relationships with students and staff.
• Assist in recruitment of students when appropriate.
• Evaluate curriculum and instructional performance.
• Promote a positive public image of the college.
• Complete required annual CMC training courses.

Skills

National or state interpreter certification

3–5+ years professional interpreting experience

Proven experience teaching, training, or mentoring adults

Expertise in at least one specialization track

Strong knowledge of interpreter ethics

Ability to travel in-region

Bilingual proficiency at professional interpreter level
