Job summary

Mercy Health – Lorain Hospital is seeking a part-time Behavioral Health Specialist to support patient care in the inpatient setting afternoons with rotating weekends and holidays. You will collaborate with nurses, report changes, document care, and participate in rounds and safety measures, including 1:1 safety companion services as needed.

Required and preferred credentials include a high school diploma, with a bachelor's degree preferred, and certifications such as BLS or STNA/CNA; a

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
• 1 year of experience in mental health or health care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including comfort, vital signs, personal care, and mobility assistance.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes/concerns.
• Provides accurate, timely documentation of patient care.
• Participates in hand-off/report of pertinent information and completes patient rounding and 15-minute checks.
