Job summary

Northeast Kingdom Human Services (NKHS) seeks a Behavior Consultant to drive positive change by conducting functional assessments and crafting personalized support plans. You will train and guide staff, track success, and champion independence.

Responsibilities include developing and evaluating behavior support plans, using ethical and person-centered methods, and promoting self-advocacy for individuals in care.

Qualifications

• Experience conducting functional assessments.
• Developing behavior support plans that meet state standards.
• Providing training to employees on plans and guidelines.
• Regularly reviewing data and updating plans as needed.
• Conducting person-centered planning meetings and interviews.

Responsibilities

• Conducts functional assessments that meet state regulations and are built on positive behavior supports.
• Develops behavior support plans and interaction guidelines using ethical, proactive, person-centered approaches.
• Develops methods to track effectiveness of behavior support plans.
• Provides necessary training to enable staff to use behavior support plans and guidelines.
• Regularly reviews data and makes changes to plans as necessary.
• Conducts person-centered planning meetings and interviews as needed.
• Promotes self-advocacy and independence for individuals, and advocates when needed to ensure rights and appropriate treatment.
