Job summary

Northeast Kingdom Human Services in St. Johnsbury, VT is seeking a Behavior Consultant to drive positive change through functional assessments and personalized support plans. You will train staff, track outcomes, and champion independence.

  • Knowledge of the system of care, ABA and trauma-informed treatment.
  • Administrative and supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct functional assessments that meet state regulations and are based on positive behavior supports.
  • Develop behavior support plans and interaction guidelines using ethical, proactive, person-centered approaches.
  • Develop methods for tracking effectiveness of behavior support plans.
  • Provide training to enable staff to implement behavior support plans and guidelines.
  • Regularly review and analyze data and adjust plans as needed.
  • Conduct person-centered planning meetings and interviews as required.
  • Promote self-advocacy and independence for individuals, advocating when needed.

Behavior Consultant

Join our team as a Behavior Consultant! Drive positive change by conducting functional assessments and crafting personalized support plans. Train and guide staff, track success, and champion independence. Make an impact where it truly matters!


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Conducts functional assessments that meet state regulations and are built upon the concepts of positive behavior supports.

  • Develops behavior support plans and interaction guidelines that utilize ethical, proactive, person centered approaches and meets State standards.

  • Develops methods of tracking effectiveness of behavior support plans.

  • Provides the necessary training (New Employee Training, individual plans, etc) to enable employees to effectively use behavior support plans and interaction guidelines.

  • Regularly reviews and analyzes data and make changes to plans as necessary.

  • Conducts person centered planning meetings and interviews as needed.

  • Promotes self-advocacy and independence by encouraging each individual to identify his/her needs and preferences; and when necessary, provides advocacy on behalf of each individual to ensure appropriate treatment, training and protection of rights.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Behavior Consultant provides clinical supervision to the Behavior Interventionists and the treatment team.


QUALIFICATIONS


  • Master's degree in Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, Human Services or related field preferred.

  • Three years of experience working with children with behavioral challenges and developmental disabilities.

  • Knowledge of system of care, Applied Behavioral Analysis and trauma informed treatment a must.

  • Administrative and supervisory experience is also required.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSURES OR REGISTRATIONS

BCBA or VT LBA preferred or working toward BCBA. Possession of a valid driver's license and good driving record.


SALARY & BENEFITS


  • Competitive Salary $24.00 - $29.34 per hour, depending on education and experience
