Job summary

PMA Companies is seeking a Claims Specialist specializing in Auto and General Liability to investigate, evaluate, reserve, and resolve complex claims across multiple states. You will provide exceptional service to internal and external partners, ensuring timely, compliant resolutions within authority.

The role requires 4 years of commercial claims experience, with auto claims expertise and familiarity with litigated matters and municipal clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• 4 years of commercial claims experience required.
• Auto claims experience required; property and GL experience a plus.
• Experience with multi-state claims required.
• Experience handling litigated files required; municipal clients preferred.
• Familiarity with coverage, negligence principles, investigation and negotiation techniques.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and exercise good judgment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer literacy with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Promptly investigate assigned claims for coverage, liability, damages, subrogation and contribution.
• Ensure timely disposition of claims in line with regulatory requirements.
• Establish appropriate loss and expense reserves with documented rationale.
• Maintain and adjust reserves over the life of the claim.
• Negotiate resolutions within granted authority.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to reach disposition.
• Select and manage service vendors to balance expenses and outcomes.
• Maintain knowledge of jurisdictional requirements for assigned claims territory.
