Job summary
YMCA of Greater New York's Ridgewood location is seeking an Assistant Teacher II to support the Head Group Teacher with lesson plans, classroom activities, and family engagement. The role emphasizes supervision, safety, and fostering learning in a supportive team setting.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Teacher Assistant certificate preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience working with young children in a group setting.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the health, safety, and well being of children in the program.
- Assist with implementing developmentally appropriate lessons and activities.
- Guide students in their academic growth and learning.
- Communicate with parents/guardians and families about progress and needs.
- Maintain a clean, safe classroom and report hazards.
- Prepare food for children and support a family-style dining environment.
- Maintain program documentation and attendance or incident records.
- Support staff within the Early Childhood Learning Center and YMCA Branch.
