UMass Amherst Athletics is seeking an Assistant Coach for Women's Tennis to support the program under the Head Coach through recruiting, coaching, mentoring, and administrative duties. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree with 2–4 years of intercollegiate tennis experience, strong communication skills, and availability for weekend/evening work on campus in Amherst.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Two to four years of women's tennis intercollegiate coaching and/or playing experience.
• Ability to string tennis racquets.
• Ability to work weekends and nights.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of women's tennis methods and techniques of coaching.
• Working knowledge of rules and regulations governing intercollegiate athletics.
• Ability to foster and maintain working relationships with various stakeholders.
• Moderate to high movement and activity; extended standing.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
• Ability to use social media platforms to help promote the program.
• Valid Class D Massachusetts Driver's license and ability to drive a passenger van.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, coach, mentoring, and providing administrative support for the women's tennis program.
• Comply with NCAA, conference rules, and university policies.
• Assist Head Coach to recruit student-athletes with academics, athletics, and community involvement.
• Help foster a positive student-athlete experience and team culture.
• Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the program.
• Support training goals and coordinate with Sports Performance coach as directed by Head Coach.
• Manage administrative functions and paperwork related to the program.
• Coordinate facility management and event planning with relevant departments.
• Represent the program at conventions, conferences, and clinics.
