Job summary

The YMCA of Central New York is seeking an Aquatics Director for the Hal Welsh East Area Family YMCA to lead all aquatic programs across locations. You will supervise staff and volunteers, develop safe, engaging water programs, and ensure compliance with YMCA guidelines and health codes.

Ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent), YMCA aquatics certifications, and experience managing budgets and programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• YMCA aquatics training and trainer certifications required; YMCA Team Leader certification preferred or completed within two years.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aquatic programs and facilities for the branch and satellite day camp programs.
• Develop and implement aquatic programs to promote membership growth and retention.
• Provide direct leadership, instruction, motivation, safety, and enjoyment for participants and staff.
• Ensure health department and YMCA guidelines are followed; monitor certifications and staff training.
• Manage budgeting for the Aquatics Department and oversee facility maintenance and safety.
