Job summary

Berks County Intermediate Unit (BCIU) is seeking an Alternative Education Intake Coordination Specialist to serve as the local site coordinator for students enrolled in BCIU Alternative Education Programs. You will assist staff with instructional activities, maintain records, and coordinate enrollment and scheduling to support effective educational programming.

Qualifications

• Requires associate degree in human services or related field; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Ability to acquire Emergency Permit through participation in the BCIU Guest Teacher Program or Classroom Monitor Training Program.
• Strong organizational, computer, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist professional staff with instructional activities as needed.
• Interact with students in a non-threatening, therapeutic manner.
• Assist in conducting pre-program assessments to help determine class eligibility based on functional knowledge.
• Collect and maintain student and program records including attendance, enrollment, and behavior data.
• Utilize program database and reporting systems including billing verification and student databases (e.g., Infinite Campus) and end-of-year reports.
