Job summary

Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) seeks an Agile Release Train Engineer acting as Project Manager I to coach ARTs, facilitate events, and help teams deliver value in a matrix environment.

The role focuses on dependencies, risk management, and relentless improvement, with oversight of scrum masters and contractors. A degree or 3+ years PM experience is required; strong SAFe/JIRA/Confluence knowledge is desired.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 7+ years relevant experience if no degree.
• 3+ years of progressively responsible project management work, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Develop Project Plans defining scope, budget, schedule and resources.
• Coordinate resources and obtain approvals for projects.
• Review and approve contract services or materials.
• Ensure efficient use of District resources.
• Maintain clear communication with interface departments and projects.
• Provide input to performance evaluations and status updates.
