Job summary

Cleveland Heights University Heights City Schools is seeking a 21st Century After School Program Paraprofessional to support at‑risk students after school at Noble Elementary School. You will work with middle and high school students, provide homework techniques, coordinate life skills, assist with enrichment projects, and deliver interventions in academic, social, emotional, and recreational activities.

Qualifications

High school diploma with the passage of the ParaPro Assessment prior to employment.
OR one year of related successful work experience
OR an Associate's Degree or higher
OR 2 years of college coursework
Strong interpersonal skills
Experience with online academic intervention programs
An Educational Aide Permit or license with the Ohio Department of Education

Responsibilities

Support program implementation by working with middle school and/or high school at-risk students individually and in small groups.
Provide homework techniques training, assist in coordinating life skills training, assist with enrichment projects, and provide appropriate interventions to at-risk students after school in academic, social/emotional, and recreational activities.
Modify inappropriate behavior by working with students to create peer coping skills.
Under the supervision of the coordinator and building principal.
